I need to retract a statement. I think there may have been miscommunication between the principal and the staff at FD. It does support Trimesters. In fact the strange setup was caught by one of its staff people. last week.

We use Fast Direct. It has some good features, but is somewhat limited. For example: We are on trimesters which the program does not support, so our grade book is set up as 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter. Why it is not set up at LEAST as 1/2/3 quarters I…

I am finding my way back here. Has anyone used Museum Box with your students as a research presentation tool? http://museumbox.e2bn.org/

About Me:
I have taught in Lutheran Schools for 35 years or so. I love the excitement that is generated among the students as they do anything having to do with technology. I love bringing God's world into my classroom through technology. I look at technology as a gift from God that can be used to further His work in His Kingdom

Wufoo

Are any of you familiar with Wufoo? It looks like it has some real possibilities. Here is a sample of how one teacher used it as a book report format. It appears that you can make three forms at no cost. I believe you have to purchase it if you wish to continue using it.

4 Teachers

If you have not seen this site, it is worth a glance, anyway. The tools alone are very helpful. I was familiar with and use several of them on a regular basis. Others are new to me.

Constitution Day - September 17th

I put together a wiki with sites for observing Constitution Day for our teaching staff. Please add to it if you know of other good sites.

Is anyone familiar with......

..... think.com ? It appears to be set up well with adequate safeguards. It is designed specifically for schools and encourages collaborations between schools, which I think may give it an advantage over wikis and nings. Looking at the enrollment form, enrollment is limited to specific types of schools (ours qualify) and enrollment needs to be approved. A limitation I do see is for those of you (like Lynn) who teach Ed Tech classes could not enroll unles… Continue

Hi Wendy,

With your love of Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

Hi Wendy. I just finished my 35th year of teaching. The challenge of technology and trying to use some of the new accessories of technology can be overwhelming. I also find that bringing teachers, schools and technology together can be a slow but rewarding process.

Why made you decide to change your picture?

Yes the slide shows were very easy. Slide.com is the place where we created them. I showed the kids how to do a simple slide show with no frills and they went from there.
