New Position

Good morning all... this news is making the rounds since I announced it yesterday publically... but I wanted to share it here as well... I have taken a Call to serve as Executive Director/Headmaster at Redeemer Lutheran School in Oklahoma City, OK. They have been open for two years and have been without a lead administrator since they opended the doors in 2006... It is an awesome opportunity and I am excited to be able to craft a 21st Century School... Please pray for my family and I as we prepa… Continue

Reason 823 why...

I hate Micro$oft...

So I am home during Christmas Break (I love texas... no school till the 9th) and built 10 new computers that I will be putting into service this weekend and on Monday... I built the 10 computers in a little over 3.5 hours... I didnt have a Windows XP CD at home with me.. *gasp* so I downloaded the "latest" copy from Micro$oft... I built 10 computers from components in less time it takes me to download XP, install XP, then download the updats (102 OF THEM, WHAT??!!!)… Continue

Congrats on your position in OK. Are you aware of any group meetings at NECC next week?

Josh,

Wanted to send a shout out to you. Apparently you talked to my Principal Jon Reincke this weekend at a conference. He told be about some cool things in the field of technology that he saw and also that he talked to you. I'm just saying hi so you can put a name to a face on this forum.

Hey Josh:

Are you ready to keep up with blogging? Let me know and I'll add you to the blog links from my blog.

Josh,

We are going to be in Tomball in February, so I wil see you then. I am looking forward to seeing what we can come up with to help our students get the best educational experience possible.

I will check out skype and breeze tonight and become familiar with them. I am usually not teaching from 10:00-11:30 and on different times during the afternoon (we have a rotating schedule). I can also do it after school hours.

Josh,

I'd love to meet in February, do you mean at the TCEA conference, because I am probably only going to attend the NECC conference out of concern for our budget. I am willing to head up to Austin, or meet somewhere else.

I probably can meet via Skype or Breeze, only I have no idea what they are. I am willing to learn and probably have the resources (if any are needed) to make it happen. I am willing to do ground work for the NECC events, just let me know what is needed. Thanks for the help and enthusiasm.

Josh,

I think you have mentioned a few things about online classes in a few posts. Is Concordia looking at offering any online classes? It is something I am interested in, and have looked into Orange County's program. I think using their partner schools program would be great for a while, but would love to get something of our own started, or maybe get several Texas High Schools to collaborate and maybe even get Concordia Austin involved. Any interest or ideas?

Josh,

I am going to be installing Moodle on one of our servers after Christmas. I haven't yet started to read up on how to do this, can you point me in the right direction?

No, but I've been toying with creating one at wikispaces for us all to use?
What do you think?
